   Power down the iPhone

   Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top until the slider appears. Slide to turn off the device completely.

   Remove bottom Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws on either side of the Lightning connector port.

   Attach suction cup to display

   Place a suction cup onto the glass screen just above the Home button. Ensure a tight seal against the surface.

   Pry up lower edge of display

   Gently pull up on the suction cup while inserting a plastic opening tool between the display glass and outer bezel. Pry the lower edge open.

   Hinge display open to ninety degrees

   Open the display assembly by swinging the bottom end away from the rear case, keeping it hinged at the top. Do not open past 90 degrees.

   Unscrew battery bracket

   Remove the two Phillips #000 screws securing the battery cable bracket to the logic board (one 1.8 mm screw and one 1.6 mm screw).

   Remove battery bracket

   Use tweezers to lift and remove the metal battery connector bracket from the phone.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Insert the flat edge of a spudger under the battery connector and pop it straight up from its logic board socket.

   Unscrew front panel bracket

   Remove the three Phillips #000 screws securing the front panel assembly cable bracket (two 1.2 mm screws and one 1.6 mm screw).

    Remove front panel bracket

    Lift the metal front panel cable bracket off the logic board with tweezers.

    Disconnect display cables

    Use a spudger to disconnect the front-facing camera, digitizer, and LCD display cables from their sockets on the logic board.

    Remove display assembly

    Separate the display assembly completely from the rear case and set it aside safely.

    Free battery pull tab

    Peel back the clear plastic battery pull tab located near the bottom edge of the battery.

    Pry battery out of rear case

    Insert a plastic spudger between the left side of the battery and the aluminum case to break the adhesive bond. Gently lever the battery out.

    Clean adhesive residue

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to clean any remaining adhesive tape from the battery cavity.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Lay pre-cut adhesive strips into the battery recess on the rear case and peel off the protective backing film.

    Set replacement battery in place

    Align the replacement battery in the case and press down firmly to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

    Reconnect display cables

    Attach the LCD, digitizer, and front camera press connectors back onto their sockets on the logic board.

    Reinstall front panel bracket

    Position the front panel cable bracket over the connectors and reinstall the three Phillips #000 screws.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Align and press down on the battery connector to attach it to the logic board socket.

    Reinstall battery bracket

    Place the battery connector bracket back over the plug and secure it with its two Phillips #000 screws.

    Press display assembly into frame

    Insert the top edge of the display panel into the rear case, then snap the rest of the display perimeter back into place.

    Reinstall bottom Pentalobe screws

    Thread and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws next to the charging port to finalize the reassembly.
