Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the sleep/wake button at the top until the slider appears, then slide to turn off the device.

Remove Bottom Screws
2 minUse a Pentalobe P2 screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws located on either side of the dock connector.

Slide Rear Panel
1 minPush the rear glass panel upward toward the top edge of the phone until it shifts about 2 mm.

Lift Rear Panel
1 minGently lift the rear glass panel away from the phone chassis and set it aside.

Unscrew Battery Connector
2 minRemove the 1.7 mm and 1.5 mm Phillips #000 screws securing the battery connector bracket to the logic board.

Remove Pressure Contact
2 minUse tweezers to carefully remove the small metal grounding clip located under the top battery screw.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the battery connector and pry it straight up from the socket.

Remove Battery
3 minPull the clear plastic pull-tab gently to loosen the battery adhesive, then lift the battery out of the case.

Unscrew Dock Connector Shield
2 minRemove the 1.5 mm and 1.2 mm Phillips screws holding the dock connector cable cover in place.

Remove Cable Shield
1 minUse tweezers to lift the metal dock connector cable shield out of the phone.

Disconnect Dock Ribbon Cable
1 minPry the dock connector ribbon cable connector straight up off its socket on the logic board.

Peel Dock Cable
2 minGently peel the flexible dock connector ribbon cable off the interior metal frame.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pop the cellular antenna coax cable off its terminal on the dock assembly.

Unscrew Speaker Enclosure
2 minRemove the two 2.4 mm Phillips screws securing the bottom speaker assembly to the outer frame.

Remove Speaker Assembly
2 minLift the speaker/antenna enclosure out of the bottom of the iPhone chassis.

Free Microphone Capsule
2 minUse tweezers to gently pry the small lower microphone out of its recessed channel near the bottom edge.

Remove Dock Port Assembly
2 minCarefully remove the entire dock connector and ribbon cable assembly from the iPhone frame.

Install New Dock Port
3 minAlign the new dock port assembly inside the bottom bezel and press the microphone firmly into its slot.

Reinstall Speaker Assembly
2 minPlace the speaker enclosure back over the dock connector and secure it with the two 2.4 mm screws.

Connect Antenna Cable
2 minSnap the lower cellular antenna connector back onto its mating terminal on the dock board.

Attach Dock Cable
2 minPress the dock ribbon cable flat against the frame and press the connector firmly onto the logic board.

Secure Cable Shield
2 minReplace the metal dock connector shield and tighten its two Phillips screws.

Reinstall Battery
3 minPlace the battery back in its recess, position the grounding clip, press the connector down, and tighten the two screws.

Reattach Rear Panel
2 minPlace the rear panel onto the phone frame, slide it down until secure, and replace the two Pentalobe bottom screws.
