   Power Off the iPhone

   Press and hold the top power button until the slider appears. Slide the power switch on screen to completely switch off the device.

   Remove Bottom Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws located on either side of the 30-pin dock connector.

   Slide the Rear Panel

   Place both thumbs on the rear glass panel and push it upward toward the top edge. The panel will slide up about 2 mm.

   Remove the Rear Panel

   Lift the rear glass panel away from the phone body and set it aside in a safe spot.

   Locate the Battery Connector

   Find the metal battery connector bracket situated next to the bottom-left edge of the battery.

   Remove the Upper Bracket Screw

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 1.7 mm screw securing the top of the battery connector.

   Remove the Lower Bracket Screw

   Remove the 1.5 mm Phillips #000 screw from the bottom of the battery connector bracket.

   Detach the Grounding Clip

   Use tweezers to carefully lift the small metal grounding pressure contact clip off the lower screw post.

   Disconnect the Battery Cable

   Insert the flat end of a plastic spudger beneath the battery connector and gently pry up to disconnect it from the logic board.

    Apply Isopropyl Alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-grade isopropyl alcohol under the right edge of the battery to loosen the factory adhesive.

    Pull the Plastic Battery Tab

    Grasp the clear plastic pull tab located near the top right of the battery and pull upward firmly.

    Pry Out the Battery

    Insert a plastic opening tool along the right side of the battery and lever it out of the rear recess.

    Clean Old Adhesive

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue from the battery compartment using a lint-free wipe and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply New Adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off the replacement adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery recess.

    Insert New Battery

    Align the new battery over the recess and press down firmly so it adheres securely to the chassis.

    Reinstall Grounding Clip

    Use tweezers to position the small metal grounding clip back onto the lower battery screw mount.

    Reconnect the Battery

    Press the battery connector straight down onto its socket on the logic board until it snaps into place.

    Secure the Connector Bracket

    Thread and tighten the 1.7 mm and 1.5 mm Phillips screws into the connector bracket using your Phillips #000 screwdriver.

    Reattach the Rear Panel

    Place the rear panel onto the phone about 2 mm above flush, then slide it down until it sits flush with the frame.

    Reinstall Bottom Screws

    Drive the two 3.6 mm P2 pentalobe screws back into the bottom of the phone alongside the dock connector.
