Power off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the top power button, then slide the screen toggle to power down the device completely.

Remove bottom dock screws
2 minUse a Phillips #00 or Pentalobe driver to remove the two 3.6 mm screws flanking the dock connector.

Slide the rear glass panel
1 minPush the rear panel upward with both thumbs until it slides up about 2 mm.

Lift off the rear panel
1 minGently lift the rear glass panel away from the iPhone frame and set it aside.

Remove the battery screw
2 minLocate the single 2.5 mm Phillips screw securing the battery connector pressure contact and remove it.

2 minUse a spudger to carefully unclip the mini coaxial cellular antenna cable from the speaker assembly.

Remove the old loudspeaker assembly
2 minPry the loudspeaker module upward and lift it out from the bottom of the chassis.

Set the replacement loudspeaker
2 minPosition the new loudspeaker assembly into the bottom cavity of the iPhone housing.

Reconnect the cellular antenna cable
2 minSnap the mini coaxial antenna connector onto its mating clip on the new speaker module using tweezers.

Fasten the loudspeaker mounting screws
2 minReinstall the two 2.4 mm Phillips screws to secure both sides of the speaker module.

Replace the metal grounding clip
1 minSet the small metal grounding clip back onto the battery connector pad using tweezers.

Reconnect the battery terminal
1 minAlign the battery connector with its socket and press firmly until it snaps into place.

Secure the battery connector screw

Attach the rear glass panel
2 minPlace the rear panel onto the back frame leaving a slight gap at the top, then slide it downward until flush.
