Power off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the top power button until the slider appears. Slide the toggle to turn off the iPhone completely before proceeding.

Remove the bottom dock screws
2 minUse a Pentalobe P2 or Phillips #000 driver to remove the two screws located on either side of the dock connector port.

Slide the rear panel upward
1 minPlace your thumbs on the back cover and push gently upward toward the top edge. The panel will slide up about 2 millimeters.

Lift off the rear panel
1 minGrasp the top edge of the loosened rear panel and lift it off the chassis. Set the rear panel aside in a safe spot.

Unscrew the battery connector bracket
1 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the single 2.5 mm screw securing the battery connector to the logic board.

Detach the grounding clip
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift out the small metal grounding clip located under the battery connector screw point.

Disconnect the battery connector
1 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the battery connector and gently pop it straight up off the logic board socket.

1 minGently pull up the clear plastic tab located on the exposed side of the battery.

2 minApply a small drop of isopropyl alcohol to a clean cloth and wipe away any leftover adhesive residue inside the metal recess.

Prepare the replacement battery
2 minPeel the protective backing off the new adhesive strips and press them firmly against the back surface of the replacement battery.

Position the new battery
2 minLower the new battery into the battery well, ensuring the flexible power cable aligns properly with the logic board socket.

Reinstall the metal grounding clip
2 minUse tweezers to place the tiny metal grounding clip over the logic board screw hole near the battery connector.

Connect the battery terminal
1 minAlign the battery connector over its logic board socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

Secure the battery connector screw
1 minInsert and tighten the single 2.5 mm Phillips #000 screw through the grounding clip and battery bracket.

Reattach the rear panel
1 minPlace the rear cover onto the chassis leaving a 2 mm gap at the top, then slide it downward until flush with the edge.

Reinstall the dock screws
2 minDrive the two bottom screws back into the dock connector port to secure the rear cover.
