   Power Down the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously, then slide to power off completely.

   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two screws located on either side of the USB-C port.

   Heat Lower Edge

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the display for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the screen glass just above the home edge.

   Lift Front Panel

   Pull up on the suction cup with steady, firm pressure to create a small gap between the glass screen and frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created at the bottom edge of the device.

   Slice Lower Adhesive

   Slide the pick back and forth along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Slice Left Side Adhesive

   Carefully slide the pick up the left edge of the screen to release the side adhesive strips.

   Slice Right Side Adhesive

   Slide the pick along the right edge, keeping insertion depth under 3 millimeters to avoid damaging underlying flex cables.

    Open Display Assembly

    Gently swing the screen open from the left edge like a book and prop it up against a box to prevent strain on the cables.

    Remove Shield Screws

    Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws holding the lower metal connector shield.

    Remove Metal Shield

    Use tweezers to lift out the metal cover protecting the battery and display connectors.

    Disconnect Battery Cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up out of its socket using the pointed end of a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect Display Cable

    Use a spudger to pry the main display ribbon cable straight up from the logic board.

    Separate Display Assembly

    Lift the display assembly completely away from the phone body and place it face-down on a clean surface.

    Scrape Old Adhesive

    Use a spudger to peel and scrape remaining adhesive residue away from the inner perimeter of the aluminum frame.

    Clean Frame Perimeter

    Wipe the frame edge with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with high-percentage isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply New Display Adhesive

    Align the replacement pre-cut adhesive seal with the frame edges and press down firmly to secure it.

    Connect New Display Cable

    Position the new screen beside the frame and press the main display connector into its motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Press the battery cable connector straight down onto its socket on the logic board.

    Reinstall Connector Shield

    Place the metal shield back over the cable connections and secure it with the Y000 tri-point screws.

    Close Screen Assembly

    Align the top clips of the display assembly into the top frame lip and press down firmly along the sides until flush.

    Reinstall Pentalobe Screws

    Thread and tighten the two P2 pentalobe screws back into the bottom of the frame on either side of the port.
