   Power down the iPhone 16

   Press and hold the side button and volume up button, then slide the screen toggle to turn off the phone completely.

   Remove bottom Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C charging port.

   Apply heat to the back glass panel

   Heat the back glass perimeter with a heat gun on medium setting for two minutes to soften the internal seal.

   Attach suction cup to back glass

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear glass panel, just above the USB-C port.

   Insert opening pick beneath back glass

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a gap at the bottom seam and insert an opening pick beneath the glass.

   Slice perimeter adhesive on back glass

   Slide the opening pick around the bottom, left, and right edges to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Open back glass assembly

   Swing the back glass panel open toward the right side like a book, taking care not to strain the internal ribbon cable.

   Remove connector bracket screws

   Use a Tri-Point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal bracket over the logic board connectors.

   Detach bracket shield

   Lift away the metal cable cover bracket with precision tweezers and set it aside.

    Disconnect the battery

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect wireless charging coil flex cable

    Use the spudger tool to gently unseat the wireless charging coil ribbon cable from the logic board.

    Heat back glass wireless coil assembly

    Apply light heat to the exterior face of the back glass for 60 seconds to loosen the adhesive under the charging pad.

    Pry up defective wireless charging coil

    Carefully slide a plastic opening tool beneath the wireless charging coil and peel it off the rear glass panel.

    Clean adhesive residue from rear glass

    Wipe away remaining adhesive on the inner back glass using isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

    Install new wireless charging coil

    Peel the protective backing off the new wireless charging coil and press it firmly onto the inner back panel alignment marks.

    Reconnect wireless coil and battery

    Align and press down on the wireless charging flex connector and battery connector until each clicks into place.

    Reinstall connector bracket shield

    Place the metal cover bracket back over the connectors and tighten the Tri-Point Y000 screws to secure it.

    Seal back panel and replace screws

    Press the back glass firmly into the chassis perimeter to seat the adhesive, then reinstall the two P2 Pentalobe screws.
