Safety

Step-by-step

Power off the iPhone
1 minTurn off your iPhone 16 completely before starting to prevent short circuits.

Remove the bottom pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws on either side of the USB-C port.

Heat the bottom and back edges
3 minApply heat to the lower edges of the back glass using a heat gun on low power for 2 minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
3 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap under the glass to cut through the adhesive perimeter.

Open the back glass panel
2 minCarefully swing the back glass open toward the left side, keeping the display cables strain-free.

Unscrew the lower connector shield
3 minUse a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to unthread the screws holding the metal connector shield over the battery cable.

Disconnect the battery cable
2 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its socket using the flat edge of a spudger.

Remove the loudspeaker retaining screws
3 minUnbolt the Phillips and Tri-point screws securing the loudspeaker assembly to the bottom of the enclosure.

Lift out the old speaker
2 minGently insert a spudger under the loudspeaker module and lift it out from the device frame.

Set the new loudspeaker in place
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker assembly with the lower housing cavity and press it flat.

Secure the speaker screws
3 minReinstall and tighten all designated screws to firmly lock the loudspeaker module into place.

Reconnect the battery cable
2 minAlign the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press down gently until it snaps into place.

Reinstall the connector shield
3 minPosition the metal shield back over the connectors and fasten it using the Tri-point Y000 screws.

Apply fresh back glass adhesive
4 minClean off remaining old adhesive from the frame with isopropyl alcohol and lay down a pre-cut back glass adhesive strip.

Seal the enclosure and insert bottom screws
3 minPress the back glass firmly onto the frame along all edges, then reinstall the two P2 Pentalobe screws into the bottom port area.
