   Power Off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and volume up button simultaneously until the power slider appears. Slide to turn off the iPhone completely before starting.

   Remove Bottom Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 1.5 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C port.

   Heat the Rear Glass Edge

   Apply a heat gun or heated pad to the lower edge of the rear glass for 2 minutes to soften the waterproof adhesive.

   Attach Suction Handle

   Place a suction cup tool onto the lower portion of the rear glass panel, just above the USB-C port.

   Slice Lower Adhesive

   Pull up firmly on the suction handle to create a tiny gap, then insert an opening pick into the lower seam.

   Slice Lateral Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the left and right edges of the phone to slice through the perimeter adhesive.

   Open the Back Glass

   Gently swing open the back glass panel from the left edge like a book, taking care not to strain the delicate flex cables.

   Remove Lower Metal Shield

   Unscrew the Tri-point Y000 screws securing the lower metal bracket over the battery connector.

   Disconnect Battery Cable

   Use the flat edge of a spudger to gently pop the battery press connector straight up off the board.

    Disconnect Back Glass Cable

    Lift the back glass ribbon cable connector from the logic board using a spudger.

    Unscrew Upper Logic Board Brackets

    Remove the upper metal shield screws near the top left frame to expose the volume button flex connectors.

    Disconnect Volume Flex Connector

    Pry up the volume button flex cable connector from the logic board with the pointed tip of a spudger.

    Unscrew Volume Button Bracket

    Remove the small metal bracket screws holding the physical volume button switches against the inner housing frame.

    Remove Damaged Volume Flex

    Gently slide a flat pick under the flexible circuit to peel it away from the inner chassis adhesive.

    Clean Internal Frame Recess

    Apply a drop of 99% isopropyl alcohol to a cotton swab and clean away residual adhesive inside the button cavity.

    Position New Volume Button Flex

    Align the replacement volume button flex switches directly behind the physical button actuators in the frame slot.

    Secure Retaining Bracket

    Reinstall the metal bracket and tighten its screws to hold the volume switches firmly in place.

    Reconnect Board Cables and Battery

    Snap the volume flex, back glass, and battery press connectors back onto the logic board socket.

    Clean remaining old adhesive off the frame edges and lay down a fresh cut-to-size waterproof adhesive gasket.
