Remove Pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C port.

Heat bottom edge
3 minApply heat to the lower edge of the front glass using a heat gun set low for about two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Apply suction cup
2 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display screen and gently pull upward to create a slim seam.

Insert opening pick
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge, then slice along the perimeter to separate the display adhesive.

3 minPry up the lower microphone and USB-C port board gently using a spudger, freeing the microphone rubber gasket from its recess.

Install new microphone assembly
4 minAlign the replacement flex assembly into the chassis, ensuring the primary microphone sits flush inside its acoustic port opening.

Reinstall Taptic Engine and speaker
5 minLower the Taptic Engine and loudspeaker back into position and secure them using their respective mounting screws.

Reconnect display and battery
4 minSnap the display flex cables onto the logic board socket, reconnect the battery connector, and re-anchor the metal cover plate with its screws.

Reseal and secure display
5 minApply a new display perimeter adhesive strip, press the screen flush into the frame, and reinsert the two bottom Pentalobe screws.
