   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously until the slider appears. Slide to power off the device completely.

   Remove pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C port. Place screws in a magnetic mat to keep track of them.

   Heat the back glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun along the rear glass edge for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive seal. Do not overheat the camera area.

   Attach suction handle

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the back glass, taking care to avoid the edge and camera module.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up firmly on the suction handle to create a tiny gap, then slide a thin opening pick under the glass.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around the bottom and sides of the frame to cut through the waterproof adhesive tape.

   Open the back glass

   Gently swing open the back glass from the left edge like a book page. Take care not to pull on the internal flex cables.

   Unscrew battery connector bracket

   Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the lower bracket cover.

   Remove battery bracket

   Use tweezers to lift the metal cover bracket off the logic board socket and set it aside.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket.

    Unscrew upper cable shield

    Remove the three Y000 screws securing the back glass sensor shield near the upper logic board.

    Detach rear glass assembly

    Disconnect the rear glass sensor and wireless charging cables, then lift and separate the rear glass panel.

    Locate battery pull-tabs

    Identify the adhesive stretch-release pull-tabs located at the top and bottom edges of the battery frame.

    Peel back top pull-tab tips

    Use tweezers to carefully unstick the black pull-tab tips from the top edge of the metal battery casing.

    Pull top adhesive strips

    Slowly pull the top adhesive tab at a low angle away from the battery until the full strip slides out.

    Peel bottom pull-tab tips

    Unstick the lower adhesive pull-tab tips from the bottom edge of the battery using fine-tip tweezers.

    Pull bottom adhesive strips

    Pull the bottom adhesive strips out smoothly at a flat angle until completely removed from beneath the battery.

    Lift out old battery

    Carefully lift the battery out of the chassis enclosure using a plastic opening tool if light residue remains.

    Clean battery cavity

    Apply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth and wipe away any remaining adhesive residue from the well.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Adhere new stretch-release adhesive strips to the back of the replacement battery and peel off the protective backing film.

    Insert replacement battery

    Align and press the new battery into the enclosure frame, holding firm pressure for ten seconds to seat the adhesive.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Snap the rear glass sensor cables and main battery press connector firmly back onto their respective board sockets.

    Reinstall metal brackets

    Position the protective metal brackets back over the connectors and tighten all Y000 screws securely.

    Reseal and close back glass

    Apply a fresh perimeter adhesive seal, press the back glass down along all edges, and reinstall the two pentalobe screws.
