Step-by-step

Power Down Device
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button, then slide the screen slider to power off the iPhone completely.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C charging port.

Warm the Rear Glass
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the rear glass panel for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Apply Suction Handle
1 minPlace a suction cup tool onto the lower portion of the rear glass, just above the USB-C port, and press firmly to seal.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up on the suction handle to create a tiny gap, then slide a plastic opening pick under the glass edge.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
4 minCarefully slide the opening pick around the bottom and side edges of the back glass to separate the perimeter waterproof seal.

Open Back Panel
2 minGently swing the back panel open toward the right side like a book cover, taking care not to strain the ribbon cables.

Unscrew Bracket Cover
2 minUse a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower metal connector shield.

Disconnect Battery Connector
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off its socket using the pointed end of a spudger to disable power.

Unfasten Speaker Module
3 minRemove the Phillips and Tri-point screws anchoring the loudspeaker housing to the bottom of the enclosure.

Remove Loudspeaker
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the rear case.

Install Replacement Speaker
3 minPosition the new speaker assembly into the lower cavity, press it flat, and reinstall the retaining screws.

Attach Battery and Bracket
3 minSnap the battery connector back onto the logic board and re-secure the protective metal cover plate with its screws.

Apply Adhesive and Close
4 minLay down fresh precut adhesive along the frame edges, align the back glass, and press firmly around the borders to seal.
