   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the side button and volume up button until the power slider appears, then slide to turn off.

   Remove bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C port.

   Heat the display edge

   Apply a heated pad or heat gun to the bottom edge of the screen for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the front glass just above the home edge.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up firmly on the suction handle to create a tiny gap between the screen assembly and frame.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam gap at the bottom edge of the device.

   Slice bottom adhesive

   Slide the pick back and forth along the bottom edge to slice through the display sealant.

   Slice left side adhesive

   Continue sliding the pick around the bottom-left corner and up the left edge of the phone.

   Slice right side adhesive

   Reinsert the pick at the bottom edge and slice up the right side toward the top corner.

    Open the display

    Gently swing the display open from the right edge like a book page. Do not pull it completely away yet.

    Remove battery bracket screws

    Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the lower logic board connector cover.

    Detach battery cover plate

    Use tweezers to carefully lift the metal battery connector shield off the logic board.

    Disconnect battery press connector

    Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket using the flat edge of a spudger.

    Remove display bracket screws

    Unscrew the Y000 screws securing the display cable retention bracket.

    Disconnect display flex cable

    Lever the main display flex cable off the logic board socket using a spudger.

    Separate screen assembly

    Lift the damaged display assembly completely clear from the phone body.

    Clean frame adhesive residue

    Scrape away remaining adhesive strips around the aluminum frame perimeter using isopropyl alcohol and a pick.

    Apply new perimeter adhesive

    Align and press a fresh pre-cut adhesive seal along the outer ledge of the chassis.

    Connect replacement display cable

    Align the press connector of the new display over its board socket and snap gently into place.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Press the battery cable connector back into its socket on the logic board.

    Reinstall retention brackets

    Replace the metal shields over the connectors and tighten the corresponding Y000 screws.

    Seat display into frame

    Align the top edge of the screen first, then firmly press down along the sides until it snaps flush.

    Reinstall bottom pentalobe screws

    Drive the two 3.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws into the bottom edge of the frame.
