   Power down device

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button, then slide to power off completely.

   Remove bottom screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws on either side of the USB-C port.

   Heat display perimeter

   Apply a heat gun set to low warmth around the edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the glass, avoiding the extreme bottom edge.

   Create bottom gap

   Pull up firmly on the suction handle to lift the display slightly away from the aluminum frame.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide an opening pick into the seam under the glass at the bottom edge.

   Slice lower adhesive

   Slide the pick along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Slice left adhesive

   Carefully move the pick up the left edge of the phone to cut the left adhesive strip.

   Slice right adhesive

   Slide the pick along the right edge, keeping it shallow to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

    Slice top adhesive

    Gently work the pick across the top edge to free the display assembly.

    Open display book-style

    Swing the screen open from the right edge toward the left edge, resting it against a prop.

    Unscrew lower shield

    Remove the two Y000 Tri-point screws securing the lower connector metal cover.

    Remove lower shield

    Use tweezers to lift and remove the metal shield plate.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Use the pointed end of a spudger to pop the battery connector straight up from its logic board socket.

    Disconnect display cable

    Pry up the display flex cable connector straight off the logic board with a spudger.

    Remove screen assembly

    Lift the entire display assembly off the frame and set it on a clean surface.

    Clean old adhesive

    Scrape remaining adhesive from the aluminum frame edges using tweezers and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply frame adhesive

    Align and press new pre-cut waterproof adhesive strips around the rim of the frame.

    Connect new screen

    Press the display flex cable of the new screen onto its socket until it snaps gently into place.

    Reconnect battery

    Snap the battery press connector back onto the logic board socket.

    Reinstall lower shield

    Position the metal shield back over the connectors and tighten the two Y000 screws.

    Test new display

    Turn on the iPhone to check touch sensitivity and display visual output.

    Power down for assembly

    Shut down the phone before finishing the final assembly.

    Press screen into frame

    Align the top tabs of the display into the frame and press down firmly around the perimeter to seat the glass.

    Reinstall bottom screws

    Reinsert and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws into the bottom edge.
