Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the side button and either volume button simultaneously until the sliders appear. Slide to power off completely before starting.

Remove the Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C port.

Heat the Rear Glass
3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the outer edges of the rear glass for 2–3 minutes to soften the waterproof adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup to Rear Glass
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass panel, avoiding the camera bump.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
4 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick along the bottom seam and slice around the edges.

Open the Rear Glass
2 minGently swing the rear glass open from the right edge like a book cover. Do not attempt to detach it completely yet.

Unscrew the Connector Cover Bracket
2 minUse a Y000 Tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal bracket over the battery and rear glass connectors.

Disconnect the Battery and Rear Glass
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pop the battery connector straight up, then disconnect the rear glass flex cable.

Unscrew the Lower Loudspeaker
3 minRemove the Phillips and Tri-point screws retaining the lower speaker module in the bottom portion of the enclosure.

Remove the Loudspeaker
2 minInsert a spudger under the top edge of the speaker module and carefully lift it out of the phone chassis.

Unscrew the Lower Microphone Bracket
2 minRemove the Y000 screws holding the metal retaining bracket over the lower microphone and USB-C port assembly.

Disconnect the Microphone Flex Cable
2 minUse a spudger to press under the microphone and USB-C flex connector and lift it off the motherboard.

Remove the Old Microphone Assembly
3 minCarefully pry up the integrated lower microphone and USB-C port assembly from the frame using a spudger and tweezers.

Install the New Microphone Assembly
3 minAlign the new microphone and USB-C assembly into the lower chassis, pressing firmly into place.

Reattach the Lower Loudspeaker
3 minLower the loudspeaker module back into place over the microphone assembly and secure it with its original screws.

Reconnect the Cable Bracket
2 minPlug in the rear glass flex and battery connectors, then secure the metal bracket with its Y000 screws.

Reseal the Rear Glass
3 minApply new perimeter adhesive strips to the housing and press the rear glass firmly back onto the frame.

Reinstall Pentalobe Screws
2 minInsert and tighten the two P2 pentalobe screws next to the USB-C port to finish reassembly.
