Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button until the slider appears. Slide to power off the iPhone completely.

Remove Bottom Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws located on either side of the USB-C port.

Heat Lower Edge
2 minApply heat to the lower edge of the back glass using a heat gun on low power for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower third of the back glass assembly, just above the bottom edge.

Separate Glass Edge
3 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap between the back glass and the frame, then insert an opening pick.

Slice Edge Adhesive
4 minSlide the opening pick around the bottom and right edges to slice through the perimeter adhesive.

Slice Left Adhesive
3 minCarefully slide the pick along the left edge, keeping the pick insertion shallow to avoid damaging internal cables.

Open Back Glass
2 minGently swing the back glass open toward the right side, like opening a book, to expose the internal connectors.

Remove Bracket Screws
2 minUse a Tri-Point Y000 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the lower connector bracket.

Detach Connector Cover
1 minUse tweezers to lift and remove the metal connector bracket from the logic board.

Disconnect Battery Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket.

Disconnect Back Glass Cable
2 minDisconnect the back glass assembly press connector from the logic board using the spudger.

Remove Old Back Glass
1 minLift the original back glass assembly off the phone frame and set it aside.

Clean Frame Channel
5 minRemove old adhesive strips and clean the perimeter channel on the aluminum frame with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply New Adhesive
4 minAlign and press the custom pre-cut adhesive gasket onto the perimeter of the aluminum frame.

Reconnect Back Glass
3 minConnect the ribbon cable of the replacement back glass and reconnect the battery press connector.

Reinstall Metal Bracket
2 minPlace the connector metal bracket over the cables and secure it with the two Tri-Point Y000 screws.

Seal Back Glass
3 minAlign the back glass over the frame and press firmly around all edges until it snaps flush into place.

Reinstall Bottom Screws
2 minInsert and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws next to the USB-C port to complete the repair.
