   Power down the device

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously until the sliders appear. Slide to power off the iPhone completely.

   Remove the bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.8 mm screws on either side of the USB-C port.

   Heat the front display perimeter

   Apply a heated pad or heat gun around the edges of the screen for two minutes to soften the water-resistant adhesive seal.

   Attach suction cup and open seam

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the display and pull upward firmly to create a small gap between the glass and metal frame.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge. Do not insert the pick further than 2 mm to avoid damaging delicate ribbon cables.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around the left and right sides of the screen to cut through the display adhesive perimeter.

   Open display assembly

   Gently swing the display open from the left side toward the right edge like a book cover. Prop the screen up against a stable box so it does not strain the cables.

   Remove logic board shield screws

   Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the small metal bracket screws securing the main logic board cover.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger to eliminate electrical hazard.

    Disconnect display flex cables

    Use a spudger to disconnect the main display and digitizer flex cables from the logic board, then set the screen assembly aside.

    Remove upper TrueDepth camera bracket screws

    Remove the Tri-point Y000 screws retaining the metal shield plate over the upper TrueDepth camera array.

    Detach upper metal bracket

    Use fine tweezers to gently lift out the upper metal retaining bracket shielding the TrueDepth sensors.

    Disconnect Face ID sensor connectors

    Carefully pry up the press connectors for the dot projector, infrared camera, and front camera from their logic board sockets.

    Remove TrueDepth camera assembly

    Use plastic tweezers to lift the TrueDepth Face ID sensor assembly straight out of its recess in the chassis frame.

    Install new TrueDepth sensor module

    Lower the replacement TrueDepth camera module into the upper chassis recess, ensuring exact alignment with the front glass cutouts.

    Connect Face ID ribbon cables

    Press the flex cable connectors firmly onto their respective logic board headers until you feel a light snap.

    Reattach upper shield bracket

    Position the upper metal camera shield back over the assembly and secure it using the Tri-point Y000 screws.

    Reconnect display and battery cables

    Attach the display flex connectors first, then reconnect the battery press connector and resecure the lower logic board bracket.
