Step-by-step

Turn Off Power and Remove SIM Tray

3 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge, then insert a plastic pick to slice the adhesive.

Open Display Assembly
3 minSlide the pick around the left and right edges, then gently swing the display open like a book toward the right side.

Unbolt Battery Bracket Screws
3 minUse a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws holding the metal battery shield bracket in place.

2 minCarefully pry up the press connectors for the IR camera, dot projector, and front camera from the logic board.

Remove TrueDepth Assembly
3 minUse blunt tweezers to lift the TrueDepth camera and sensor module gently out of its frame recess.

Insert Replacement TrueDepth Module
2 minSet the new TrueDepth Face ID camera module squarely into the chassis housing top pocket.

Connect Replacement TrueDepth Cable
2 minAlign and gently press down on the TrueDepth flex connectors until you feel them click into place.

Secure Upper Bracket Screws
2 minReposition the upper camera shield bracket and drive the Y000 screws until snug.

Reconnect Battery and Display
4 minReattach the display cables and press the battery connector back into place, then reinstall the lower bracket.

4 minClean remaining adhesive off the frame perimeter and lay down a fresh precut display adhesive gasket.
