   Power down the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button until the power slider appears. Slide to turn off the device completely.

   Remove the pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two screws located on either side of the USB-C charging port.

   Heat the lower rear glass

   Apply heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the back glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back glass, just above the USB-C port.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick no deeper than 2 mm.

   Slice the left edge adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the bottom-left corner and up the side to cut through the perimeter seal.

   Slice the right edge adhesive

   Insert a second pick on the right side and slide it upward, stopping before the volume button assembly.

   Slice the top edge adhesive

   Carefully move the pick across the top edge of the back glass to release the remaining perimeter tape.

   Open the rear glass

   Gently swing the back glass open toward the right side, leaning it against a stable object so as not to strain the cable.

    Unscrew the connector bracket

    Use a Tri-Point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal battery and display bracket.

    Remove the metal shield

    Use fine-tipped tweezers to pick up the metal bracket and set it aside in a safe spot.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off its socket on the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

    Disconnect the back glass cable

    Use a spudger to detach the back glass flex connector from the logic board.

    Separate the rear glass

    Lift the rear glass assembly away from the phone body and place it in a safe, clean location.

    Unstick the adhesive pull tabs

    Use tweezers to peel back the black tips of the stretch-release adhesive strips on the top and bottom of the battery.

    Pull the bottom adhesive strips

    Slowly pull each adhesive tab at a low angle, wrapping the strip around tweezers as needed to maintain tension.

    Pull the top adhesive strip

    Grasp the top adhesive strip pull tab and pull it outward parallel to the phone frame until it releases.

    Lift out the battery

    Carefully lift the old battery out of the housing using a plastic spudger if minor adhesive remains.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Place custom adhesive strips onto the back of the new battery, pressing firmly to remove air bubbles.

    Position the new battery

    Lower the battery into the enclosure and briefly connect the cable to verify proper placement before pressing down.
