Step-by-step

Power off your iPhone
1 minPress and hold the side button and either volume button until the slider appears. Slide to power off the device completely.

Remove the bottom Pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat the rear glass edge
3 minApply a warm heat gun or hair dryer to the lower edge of the back glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back glass, just above the Lightning port.

Separate the bottom edge adhesive
3 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick into the gap along the bottom edge.

Slice the side adhesive
4 minSlide the opening pick carefully along the left and right edges to cut through the frame adhesive.

Open the back glass
2 minGently swing the back glass open toward the right side like a book cover.

Unscrew the lower connector bracket
3 minUse a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the battery and display connector cover.

Disconnect the battery
1 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its socket.

Unscrew the wireless charging bracket
3 minRemove the Tri-point Y000 screws securing the back glass connector cover near the center of the frame.

Disconnect the wireless charging cable
2 minPry the wireless charging coil press connector up from the logic board using a plastic spudger.

Peel up the old wireless charging coil
5 minApply mild heat to the back glass and use a flat pick to gently lift the wireless charging coil assembly from the glass.

Install the new wireless charging coil
3 minRemove protective backing from the new wireless charging coil and align it precisely onto the back glass interior.

Reconnect the wireless charging cable
2 minAlign and press the charging coil connector down onto its logic board socket until it snaps into place.

Secure the connector brackets
3 minPosition the metal brackets over the wireless charging and battery connectors, then reinstall the Tri-point screws.

Reconnect the battery press connector
1 minAlign the battery connector with its socket and press firmly until you hear a soft click.

Apply fresh back glass adhesive
4 minClean remaining adhesive off the frame edges and place new pre-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter.

Seal the back glass and replace screws
3 minAlign the back glass with the main enclosure, press firmly around the edges to seal, and reinstall the bottom Pentalobe screws.
