   Turn off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously, then slide to power off. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Remove bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on the bottom edge near the charging port.

   Heat the display lower edge

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer to the lower edge of the screen for two minutes. This softens the strong waterproof adhesive holding the display.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower half of the glass screen, positioning it just above the home edge.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a slight gap between the screen assembly and the outer frame. Insert an opening pick into the gap.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick back and forth along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive perimeter.

   Slice the left side adhesive

   Move the pick around the bottom-left corner and slide upward toward the top edge. Stop before reaching the top-left corner.

   Slice the right side adhesive

   Reinsert the pick at the bottom-right corner and slice upward along the right edge of the frame.

   Slice the top edge adhesive

   Carefully slide the pick across the top edge to separate the remaining adhesive without inserting the pick deeper than 2 mm.

    Open the display panel

    Gently swing the display open from the right edge, like turning the cover of a book. Rest the screen against a supportive prop so it does not strain the cables.

    Unscrew lower connector bracket

    Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal cover plate over the battery and display connectors.

    Remove lower connector bracket

    Use precision tweezers to lift the metal shield out of the phone chassis and set it aside.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up off its logic board socket using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect display cable

    Use the spudger to gently unclip the display flex cable from its socket on the logic board.

    Separate screen assembly

    Lift the entire display assembly away from the phone body and place it on a clean, soft surface.

    Clean frame adhesive

    Scrape off residual adhesive around the edge of the aluminum frame using a plastic tool and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new display adhesive

    Align the replacement adhesive gasket onto the frame edges, press firm along the borders, and peel off the protective backing paper.

    Attach new display cable

    Position the new screen assembly near the body and press the display flex connector straight down into its socket until it snaps.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Align the battery connector over its socket and press firmly until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall connector bracket

    Place the metal shield back over the connectors and secure it using the Tri-point Y000 screws.

    Seal and seat the screen

    Hook the top edge of the screen into the frame first, then firmly press around all outer edges until the display sits flush.

    Reinstall bottom screws

    Insert and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws into the bottom edge of the frame to lock the screen in place.
