Safety

Step-by-step

Power Off iPhone
1 minPress and hold the side button and either volume button, then slide to power off completely.

Remove Bottom Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat Rear Glass
2 minApply a heat gun set to low heat along the lower edge of the back glass for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup handle onto the bottom center of the rear glass panel, just above the Lightning port.

Slice Bottom Adhesive
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic opening pick into the seam.

Slice Edge Adhesive
3 minSlide the plastic pick around the perimeter of the phone to cut through the waterproof adhesive tape.

Open Rear Glass
1 minGently swing the back glass open toward the right side like a book page. Do not pull it completely away yet.

Remove Bracket Screws
2 minUse a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the lower metal connector cover.

Remove Cover Bracket
1 minUse tweezers to lift out the metal cover shield protecting the battery and wireless charging coil connectors.

Disconnect Battery Press Connector
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Wireless Coil Connector
1 minUse your spudger to disconnect the wireless charging coil press connector, freeing the back glass completely.

Peel Adhesive Pull-Tabs
2 minUse tweezers to pull back the black tips of the four battery stretch-release adhesive strips from the battery edges.

Pull Stretch-Release Strips
5 minSlowly pull each adhesive tab horizontally out from under the battery at a low angle until the strip releases.

Remove Old Battery
2 minLift the original battery out of the rear enclosure. If stuck, apply a drop of isopropyl alcohol around the edge to soften residual glue.

Apply Battery Adhesive Strips
2 minPlace new adhesive pre-cut tape onto the underside of the replacement battery and peel off the protective backing.

Install Replacement Battery
2 minLower the new battery into the frame cavity, aligning it carefully before pressing it firmly into place.

Reconnect Display and Battery
2 minSnap the wireless charging coil and battery press connectors back onto their respective board sockets.

Reinstall Bracket and Screws
2 minPosition the metal shield cover back over the connectors and tighten the two Tri-point Y000 screws.

Reseal Rear Glass
2 minAlign the back glass panel with the enclosure and press firmly along all edges to engage the adhesive seal.

Reinstall Pentalobe Screws
1 minInsert and tighten the two P2 Pentalobe screws into the bottom edge near the charging port.
