Power off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously, then slide to power off.

Remove bottom pentalobe screws
2 minUnscrew the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat lower screen edge
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the iPhone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the front display glass without overlapping the home indicator area.

Slice bottom edge adhesive
3 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic opening pick into the seam.

Slice side display adhesive
3 minSlide the plastic pick carefully up the left and right edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive seal.

Open display to the right

Unscrew battery cover
2 minRemove the three Y000 tri-point screws securing the lower metal bracket over the battery connector.

Disconnect battery

Disconnect screen assembly

Unscrew loudspeaker fasteners
3 minRemove the four Phillips screws holding the loudspeaker assembly down to the bottom chassis.

Pry up loudspeaker module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the top edge of the speaker enclosure and gently pry it upward.

Remove old loudspeaker
1 minLift the loudspeaker out of the phone housing and inspect the mesh opening for leftover adhesive or dirt.

Install replacement loudspeaker
2 minAlign the replacement loudspeaker into the lower housing cavity and press it firmly into position.

Secure loudspeaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the four Phillips screws to fasten the loudspeaker to the chassis.

Reconnect display and battery
4 minSnap the display cable press-connectors and battery connector back onto the logic board, then reinstall their metal covers.

Reseal and close device
4 minApply new frame adhesive tape, press the screen flat into the casing, and reinsert the two P2 pentalobe screws.
