   Power Down iPhone

   Turn off your iPhone completely before beginning disassembly.

   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Remove the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws on the bottom edge of the device using a P2 driver.

   Heat Bottom Edge

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer to the bottom edge of the display for two minutes to soften the waterproof adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the screen, just above the Lightning port.

   Lift Lower Edge

   Pull up on the suction cup with firm, steady pressure to create a small gap between the glass and frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert a thin opening pick into the gap created at the bottom edge.

   Slice Bottom Adhesive

   Slide the pick back and forth along the bottom edge to slice through the display adhesive.

   Slice Right Edge Adhesive

   Move the pick up the right edge of the phone to release the adhesive, stopping short of the top corner.

   Slice Left Edge Adhesive

   Slide the pick along the left edge to separate the remaining side adhesive.

    Open Display Assembly

    Swing the screen open from the right side like a book cover, resting it against a stable object.

    Unscrew Connector Shield

    Remove the Tri-point Y000 screws securing the logic board connector cover plate.

    Remove Connector Shield

    Use precision tweezers to lift and remove the metal bracket covering the display and battery connectors.

    Disconnect Battery Cable

    Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect Display Cables

    Disconnect the display flex cable connectors from the logic board using the pointed end of a spudger.

    Separate Screen Assembly

    Lift the display assembly away from the phone body completely.

    Remove Sensor Assembly Screws

    Unscrew the Y000 screws holding the upper sensor cable assembly to the back of the old display.

    Transfer Sensor Assembly

    Carefully pry up the ambient light sensor and microphone, then transfer the sensor cable to the new screen.

    Secure Sensor Assembly

    Reinstall the Tri-point Y000 screws to secure the sensor assembly onto the new display.

    Clean Frame Adhesive

    Clean remaining adhesive off the metal frame edges using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply Display Adhesive

    Peel the backing off a new pre-cut adhesive seal and carefully align it onto the inner perimeter of the frame.

    Connect Display Cables

    Plug the display flex cables from the new screen into their corresponding sockets on the logic board.

    Reconnect Battery Cable

    Press the battery connector firmly back into its socket until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall Connector Shield

    Place the metal shield plate over the connectors and tighten the Y000 screws to secure it.

    Align Upper Edge

    Hook the top lip of the new display into the top edge of the phone frame.

    Press Screen into Frame

    Gently press around the perimeter of the screen until it seats flush with the frame on all sides.

    Install Pentalobe Screws

    Reinstall the two P2 Pentalobe screws into the bottom edge of the phone.
