Power off device

2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the phone next to the Lightning port.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction handle onto the bottom third of the display glass, avoiding the curved edge, and secure the suction lock.

2 minPull up firmly on the suction handle to create a tiny gap between the screen assembly and the outer frame, then insert a plastic opening pick.

Slice perimeter adhesive

1 minGently swing the screen open from the right edge toward the left, like a book cover. Rest the display against a stable object to avoid straining cables.

Remove screen assembly
1 minLift the front glass and display assembly entirely off the iPhone body and place it on a clean surface.

Uncover battery adhesive tabs
2 minUse tweezers to peel back the black pull-tabs covering the stretch-release adhesive strips at the top and bottom edges of the battery.

Pull stretch-release strips
5 minGrab one pull-tab at a time and slowly pull the adhesive strip horizontally out from beneath the battery at a low angle.

Remove old battery
2 minLift the degraded battery out of the rear case enclosure. Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol under the battery if any adhesive remains stuck.

Apply replacement adhesive
2 minAlign and press new stretch-release adhesive strips onto the underside of your replacement battery, leaving the pull-tabs exposed.

Insert new battery
2 minLower the new battery into the rear housing recess and press down firmly across its surface to secure the adhesive.

Apply perimeter seal
3 minClean remaining adhesive from the inner frame edge using isopropyl alcohol, then lay down a fresh pre-cut perimeter adhesive gasket.

Reconnect display cables
2 minAlign and snap the display flex cables and ambient light sensor cable back onto their logic board sockets.

Reconnect battery flex
1 minSnap the battery ribbon press connector back into its logic board socket.

Reinstall connector shield
2 minPlace the metal cover shield back over the connectors and reinsert the Tri-point screws until snug.

Press display closed
2 minAlign the top edge of the screen with the frame, then press firmly around all edges until the display snaps shut flush with the casing.

Secure Pentalobe screws
1 minReinstall the two P2 Pentalobe screws beside the bottom port using your screwdriver.
