Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the device and remove pentalobe screws
2 minCompletely turn off your iPhone 14 Plus. Remove the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat the rear glass edges
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer set on low heat to warm the bottom edge of the back glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Create an opening gap with a suction cup
3 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back glass and pull upward firmly while inserting an opening pick into the gap.

Slice through perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the opening pick along the bottom, left, top, and right edges to cut through the water-resistant seal.

Open the rear glass
2 minCarefully tilt the back glass open toward the right side of the phone like the cover of a book.

Remove the lower connector shield screws
3 minUse a Tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal shield over the battery and rear panel connectors.

Pry off the lower connector shield
1 minLift the metal connector shield off the board using precision tweezers and place it in your screw organizer.

Disconnect the battery
2 minUse the flat edge of a spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its socket.

Detach and remove the back glass panel
2 minDisconnect the back glass ribbon cable using a spudger and set the rear panel assembly aside safely.

Unbolt the speaker module
3 minRemove the Phillips screws securing the lower loudspeaker assembly to the bottom frame.

Remove the loudspeaker module
2 minPry up the loudspeaker with a spudger and lift it out of the chassis to expose the Taptic Engine.

Disconnect the Taptic Engine flex cable
2 minInsert the edge of a spudger under the Taptic Engine flex cable connector and pop it straight up.

Remove the Taptic Engine screws
3 minRemove the screws anchoring the Taptic Engine assembly to the inner phone frame.

Lift out the original Taptic Engine
2 minUse tweezers to carefully pick up the old Taptic Engine and remove it from the phone.
