   Power Down Device

   Press and hold the side button along with either volume button, then slide the power toggle off. Ensure the screen is completely dark before starting.

   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Unscrew the two 6.8 mm P2 pentalobe screws located on the bottom edge on either side of the charging port.

   Heat Bottom Edge

   Apply heat using a heat gun or hair dryer to the lower edge of the screen for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower half of the display screen, positioning it right above the charging port area.

   Separate Display Edge

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup handle to create a small gap between the glass and frame, then slide an opening pick into the gap.

   Slice Left Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick along the bottom corner and up the left edge of the screen to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

   Slice Right Adhesive

   Reinsert the opening pick at the bottom edge and slice around the lower right corner and up the right side.

   Slice Top Edge Adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around the top edge of the display, taking care not to insert it deeper than 2 mm.

   Open Display Assembly

   Gently pivot the screen open from the right side to the left side like a book cover. Prop it upright against a support box.

    Remove Bracket Screws

    Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws holding down the lower metal logic board cover plate.

    Remove Cover Plate

    Lift off the metal connector bracket using tweezers and set it aside in a magnetic screw mat.

    Disconnect Battery Cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to snap the battery connector straight up out of its socket.

    Disconnect Display Cable

    Pry the display press connector straight up from the board using your plastic spudger tool.

    Disconnect Sensor Cable

    Disconnect the top ambient light sensor assembly flex cable from its connector on the logic board.

    Detach Screen Assembly

    Lift the old screen assembly off the chassis frame completely and place it face down on a soft mat.

    Unscrew Sensor Assembly

    Remove the tri-point screws holding the top speaker/sensor assembly in place on the original screen.

    Transfer Sensor Assembly

    Carefully pry up the sensor flex cable from the old screen and align it in the matching slot on the new display module.

    Secure Sensor Module

    Drive the retaining screws into the new screen frame to secure the transferred sensor module.

    Clean Frame Channel

    Scrape leftover display adhesive from the aluminum housing edges using a spudger, then wipe clean with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply New Seal

    Peel the backing off a pre-cut waterproof adhesive gasket and press it firmly around the perimeter of the phone chassis.

    Reconnect Flex Cables

    Press the top sensor cable and main display cable connectors back onto their respective sockets on the board until they snap in place.

    Reconnect Battery

    Snap the battery press-connector back onto the logic board socket.

    Reinstall Metal Plate

    Position the metal connector bracket over the cable connectors and re-tighten the Y000 screws.

    Seal Display Unit

    Align the top hooks of the display into the phone frame, then press firmly along all edges until the glass sits flush.

    Install Pentalobe Screws

    Reinstall the two P2 pentalobe screws at the bottom of the device beside the charging port.
