Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button, then slide to power off the iPhone completely.

Remove pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat bottom edge
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for 2 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach suction cup

3 minUse a Y000 tri-point driver to remove the three screws securing the lower display board cover.

3 minPry up the display cable connector and ambient light sensor connector using a spudger, then set the screen aside.

3 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws holding the wireless charging coil flex cable bracket near the center logic board area.

Disconnect charging coil flex
2 minGently detach the wireless charging coil press connector from the logic board using a plastic spudger.

Heat rear wireless coil
2 minApply gentle heat to the center of the back glass for 90 seconds to soften the adhesive beneath the coil.

Peel wireless charging coil
5 minCarefully slide a plastic opening card under the wireless charging assembly to free the coil and buttons flex from the chassis.

Install replacement wireless coil
4 minAlign the new wireless charging coil with the locator posts on the rear housing and press firmly into place.
