Safety
- Power off the device completely prior to starting disassembly.
- Wear safety glasses to protect eyes against flying glass fragments from broken screens.
- Do not puncture, bend, or apply pressure to the lithium-ion battery.
- Keep track of all screws and reinstall them in their original locations to prevent internal component damage.

Step-by-step

Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously until the slider appears. Slide to power off the iPhone 13 completely.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

Heat Bottom Edge
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive seal.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the screen, just above the Lightning port area.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup firmly to create a small gap and insert a thin plastic opening pick into the bottom seam.

Slice Bottom Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick back and forth along the bottom edge of the screen to cut through the adhesive.

Slice Left Edge
2 minSlide the pick up along the left edge of the phone to separate the adhesive and release the internal retention clips.

Slice Right Edge
2 minSlide the pick carefully up the right edge; keep depth shallow to prevent damaging internal flex cables.

Open Display Assembly
1 minGently swing the display open from the right side like the cover of a book, leaning it against a support block.

Remove Connector Cover Screws
2 minUse a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the logic board display connector cover bracket.

Remove Connector Cover
1 minUse tweezers to lift and remove the metal connector bracket from the logic board.

Disconnect Battery
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery press connector straight up out of its socket.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minPry the screen display cable connector straight up off the logic board using a spudger.

Disconnect Ambient Sensor Cable
1 minDisconnect the top front sensor assembly flex cable from its connector on the logic board.

Separate Display Assembly
1 minLift the display assembly away from the phone body completely and place it on a clean work surface.

Unscrew Earpiece Speaker
2 minRemove the four screws (Y000 and Phillips #000) securing the earpiece speaker and sensor module to the display.

Pry Up Sensor Assembly
3 minCarefully pry the proximity sensor and ambient light sensor from their recessed recesses on the back of the original screen.

Install Sensor on New Screen
3 minSeat the earpiece speaker and sensor assembly into the corresponding slots on your replacement display panel.

Secure Earpiece Speaker
2 minReinstall and tighten the screws to fix the sensor assembly firmly in position on the new screen.

Clean Frame Perimeter
3 minScrape remaining adhesive off the aluminum frame edges using a spudger and isopropyl alcohol.

Apply Display Seal
3 minPeel the backing off the replacement perimeter seal and carefully align it onto the clean frame edges.

Connect Display Cable
2 minAlign and press the screen flex cable connector onto its logic board socket until it clicks.

Connect Sensor Cable
2 minPress the front sensor flex cable connector directly into its socket on the logic board.

Reconnect Battery
1 minPress the battery connector into its socket on the logic board to restore power.

Reinstall Metal Cover
2 minPlace the metal connector cover bracket over the connectors and secure it with the three Y000 screws.

Snap Display Into Place
2 minAlign the top edge of the screen into the phone chassis, then press down along all edges until it snaps flush.

Reinstall Pentalobe Screws
2 minDrive the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws back into the bottom of the device beside the Lightning port.
After your Apple iPhone 13 screen replacement
Power the iPhone 13 back on and test the screen replacement function before you put every screw away. Check touch/display response, charging, cameras, buttons, and wireless as relevant to this repair.
