   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and either volume button, then slide the screen toggle to turn off the phone.

   Remove the Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the device.

   Heat the lower display edge

   Apply a heat gun or iOpener to the bottom edge of the phone for 2 minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

   Attach the suction handle

   Press a suction cup handle onto the lower third of the screen, just above the home edge.

   Slice bottom display adhesive

   Pull up on the suction handle to create a tiny gap, then insert an opening pick under the glass.

   Slice side screen adhesive

   Slide the pick around the bottom left and right edges to separate the display adhesive seal.

   Open the display assembly

   Swing the screen open to the left side like a book cover, resting it against a sturdy object.

   Unscrew the lower shield bracket

   Remove the four Y000 tri-point screws holding the lower metal connector cover in place.

   Remove the lower shield bracket

   Use precision tweezers to lift the metal cover plate out of the housing.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off the logic board using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect display connectors

    Disconnect the display panel cable and the digitizer press cable from the motherboard.

    Unscrew upper sensor shield plate

    Remove the three Y000 tri-point screws holding the top sensor assembly metal cover.

    Disconnect front sensor flex

    Pry up the front sensor assembly cable and separate the display entirely from the enclosure.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker module

    Remove the four Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

    Remove the loudspeaker

    Lift the loudspeaker module up from the bottom of the phone frame and remove it.

    Unscrew the Taptic Engine

    Remove the two screws securing the vibrator motor / Taptic Engine unit.

    Remove the Taptic Engine

    Disconnect the Taptic Engine ribbon cable and lift the component out of the case.

    Unscrew the microphone assembly

    Remove the remaining Phillips and Tri-point screws locking the microphone and port assembly down.

    Warm the lower chassis

    Apply mild heat to the rear exterior bottom area for 1 minute to loosen the flex cable adhesive.

    Pry up the microphone flex assembly

    Gently slide a spudger under the microphone and port flex assembly to peel it off the rear case.

    Install the new microphone assembly

    Position the new microphone and lightning flex cable into the frame, pressing firmly to adhere.

    Reinstall the Taptic Engine

    Set the Taptic Engine back into the lower frame, reconnect its cable, and tighten its screws.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker

    Place the loudspeaker into position over the bottom assembly and secure it with its screws.

    Reconnect screen and sensor flexes

    Align and press down the upper sensor cable, display cable, and digitizer connectors.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Snap the battery press connector firmly back into its logic board socket.

    Secure metal shield plates

    Reinstall both metal shield plates and tighten all corresponding Y000 screws.

    Seal and screw the display

    Align the top edge of the display, press it flush into the frame, and replace the two P2 screws.
