Step-by-step

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minPower off the iPhone completely. Remove the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat Bottom Edge
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the bottom edge of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Handle
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen, just above the home button area, and press firmly to seal.

Slice Screen Adhesive
5 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap and insert an opening pick. Slide the pick around the edges to cut through the waterproof seal.

Open Display Assembly
2 minSwing the display open from the right side, like the front cover of a book, resting it against a stable object.

Remove Battery Cover Screws
2 minUnscrew the three Y000 screws securing the lower connector cover plate to the motherboard.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Cover Bracket
2 minUnscrew the two Y000 screws holding the upper display connector bracket and lift the bracket out with tweezers.

Disconnect Display Connectors
2 minDisconnect the display cable and the ambient light sensor cable using the flat end of a spudger.

Remove Rear Camera Bracket
2 minRemove the two screws securing the rear camera cover plate and lift the shield away.

Disconnect Rear Camera Cables
2 minUse a spudger to carefully disconnect both press connectors for the wide and ultra-wide camera lenses.

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the SIM card tray to release and remove the tray.

Disconnect Upper Interconnect Cables
3 minDisconnect the charging port, wireless charging coil, and upper antenna cables connected to the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Standoff Screws
3 minUnscrew the remaining Phillips #000 and standoff screws securing the logic board to the rear enclosure.

Lift Out Logic Board
2 minGently pivot the logic board up from the top edge and lift it out of the iPhone chassis, ensuring no cables catch.
