   Power down the iPhone

   Turn off your iPhone completely before starting the repair to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

   Apply heat to the front glass

   Heat the lower edge of the display with an iOpener or hair dryer for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the display glass, just above the bottom edge.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick under the screen.

   Slice perimeter display adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the bottom and left edges of the phone to cut through the display adhesive.

   Open the display assembly

   Gently swing the display open from the right edge like a book, taking care not to strain the flex cables.

   Unscrew the lower cable bracket

   Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the lower metal connector cover.

   Disconnect the battery flex

   Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect the display flex

    Use a plastic spudger to gently pop the display cable connector out of its logic board socket.

    Remove display from chassis

    Lift the display assembly completely off the frame and set it aside in a safe place.

    Unscrew upper TrueDepth bracket

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the upper Face ID sensor retaining bracket.

    Remove the sensor bracket

    Lift the metal bracket off the TrueDepth camera and Face ID module using precision tweezers.

    Disconnect TrueDepth camera cables

    Carefully disconnect the two Face ID module press connectors from the logic board using a spudger.

    Extract TrueDepth camera module

    Carefully lift the TrueDepth and Face ID camera assembly out of its recessed housing in the upper frame.

    Insert new TrueDepth module

    Place the replacement Face ID camera assembly precisely into the top housing cutout.

    Plug in TrueDepth connectors

    Align and gently press down on the two camera flex connectors until they snap into place on the logic board.

    Reinstall TrueDepth bracket

    Place the metal bracket over the sensor module and tighten the Phillips screws to secure it.

    Connect display and battery cables

    Press the display flex cable and then the battery flex cable back into their respective board sockets.

    Secure lower cable bracket

    Position the lower cover bracket over the connectors and reinstall the Y000 tri-point screws.

    Apply display seal adhesive

    Clean the frame perimeter with isopropyl alcohol and apply a new pre-cut waterproof adhesive seal.

    Close display and reinstall screws

    Align the top edge of the display, press the screen into place, and reinstall the two bottom pentalobe screws.
