Power Off iPhone
1 minTurn off your iPhone completely before starting disassembly to avoid short-circuiting components.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew the two 3.5 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

Heat Bottom Edge
2 minApply heat to the lower edge of the iPhone for two minutes using a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the screen assembly, just above the home edge.

Pry Open Display Gap
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup and insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the display and the outer frame.

Slice Frame Adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick around the bottom edge and up both sides of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive seal.

Open Display Assembly
1 minCarefully swing the display open to the left side like a book, taking care not to strain the internal flex cables.

Unscrew Logic Board Cover
2 minRemove the three Y000 Tri-point screws securing the lower logic board connector shield.

Remove Cover Bracket
1 minLift the metal connector cover bracket off the logic board using tweezers and place it aside safely.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Disconnect Display Cables
2 minDisconnect the display cable and touch sensor connectors from the logic board using the tip of a spudger.

Remove Display Assembly
1 minLift the display assembly away from the rear enclosure and store it in a safe location.

Unpeel Adhesive Pull Tabs
2 minUse tweezers to unpeel the black tips of the stretch-release battery adhesive pull tabs along the top and bottom edges.

Pull Battery Adhesive Strips
4 minSlowly pull each stretch-release tab out at a low angle, wrapping the strip around tweezers to keep constant tension until released.

Remove Old Battery
2 minLift the freed battery out of the case; if stuck, apply high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the edge to dissolve remaining glue.

Install Replacement Battery
3 minAttach new stretch-release adhesive strips to the replacement battery and press it firmly into the rear housing.

Reconnect Display and Battery
2 minReattach the display and sensor cables to the logic board, then reconnect the battery cable press-fit terminal.

Reinstall Metal Bracket
2 minPosition the metal shield bracket back over the cable connections and secure it with the Y000 screws.

Seal Display and Install Screws
3 minAlign the top edge of the display screen with the case, press down firm edges to snap into place, and reinstall the two Pentalobe screws.
