Step-by-step

Power off the iPhone
1 minPress and hold the side button and volume down button simultaneously, then slide to power off completely.

Remove bottom pentalobe screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat lower display edge
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the adhesive seal.

Apply suction handle and slice adhesive
4 minAttach a suction handle to the lower display, lift gently to create a gap, and insert an opening pick into the seam.

Open the display
3 minSlide opening picks around all four display edges to slice remaining adhesive, then open the display to the right like a book cover.

Remove rear camera module
4 minUnscrew the bracket covering the rear camera assembly, disconnect the camera press connectors, and lift the camera module out.

Heat rear glass panel
3 minFlip the phone over and apply heat to the center back glass for two minutes to loosen the adhesive beneath the wireless charging coil.

Pry up wireless charging coil
5 minSlide a thin plastic pick under the edges of the inductive charging coil, working around the perimeter until it releases from the case.

Install replacement coil assembly
3 minAlign the new wireless charging coil assembly over the rear casing cutouts and press firmly into place.

Reinstall camera module and brackets
5 minSet the rear camera back into its housing, reconnect its flex cables, and secure all upper brackets with their original screws.

Reconnect display and battery
4 minAttach the display flex cables followed by the battery connector, then reinstall the lower bracket and screws.

Reseal and close display
3 minApply new display adhesive along the frame edges, align the screen top edge first, and press firmly around the edges to snap it close.
