   Power Off the Device

   Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the power slider appears. Slide to power down the iPhone completely.

   Remove the Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.8 mm screws flanking the Lightning charging port.

   Heat the Lower Display Edge

   Apply heat using a heat gun or hair dryer along the lower edge of the screen for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the screen, just above the bottom bezel.

   Insert an Opening Pick

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge and insert an opening pick.

   Slice Lower Display Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge to slice through the perimeter adhesive seal.

   Slice Side Display Adhesive

   Slide the pick up the left and right edges, stopping before the top edge to avoid damaging the top sensor array.

   Open the Display Assembly

   Gently lift the display up from the left side and pivot it open to the right side like a book cover.

   Unscrew Battery Cover Plate

   Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower connector shield.

    Remove Lower Connector Cover

    Use precision tweezers to lift and remove the metal connector shield from the logic board.

    Disconnect the Battery

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket.

    Disconnect Display Flex Cables

    Use the spudger to disconnect the display and digitizer flex cables from the logic board.

    Detach the Display Assembly

    Lift the display assembly away from the phone body completely and place it in a safe area.

    Unscrew Taptic Engine Fasteners

    Remove the tri-point and Phillips screws securing the Taptic Engine to the lower case.

    Remove the Taptic Engine

    Lift the Taptic Engine out of the bottom of the enclosure using tweezers.

    Unscrew Loudspeaker Assembly

    Remove the retaining screws holding the bottom loudspeaker to the chassis.

    Remove the Loudspeaker

    Insert a spudger under the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the rear case.

    Unscrew Microphone Assembly Screws

    Remove the screws securing the lower microphone and charging port flex cable assembly to the frame.

    Heat Lower Chassis Adhesive

    Warm the outside bottom edge of the rear enclosure to loosen the adhesive under the flex cable.

    Pry Up Microphone Flex Cable

    Carefully slide a flat spudger under the flex assembly to detach the lower primary microphone and port from the frame.

    Position New Microphone Assembly

    Align the replacement microphone and port assembly into the lower chassis and press it down firmly onto the internal adhesive.

    Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly

    Place the loudspeaker back in its lower recess and reinstall its retaining screws.

    Reinstall Taptic Engine

    Set the Taptic Engine back into place and fasten its securing screws tightly.

    Reconnect Display and Battery

    Attach the display flex connectors back onto the logic board, then reconnect the battery press connector.

    Secure Connector Cover Plate

    Reposition the metal shield plate over the logic board connectors and fasten its tri-point screws.

    Seal Display and Insert Screws

    Align the screen with the frame, press down firmly along the edges to snap it closed, and reinstall the two Pentalobe bottom screws.
