   Power Off the iPhone

   Turn off your device completely before starting the repair to prevent electrical shorts.

   Remove the Pentalobe Screws

   Unscrew the two 3.5 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

   Heat the Bottom Edge

   Apply a warm iOpener or heat gun to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach a Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the screen, just above the home indicator area.

   Slice the Display Adhesive

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a gap and insert an opening pick into the bottom edge.

   Separate the Left and Right Edges

   Slide the pick carefully along the sides to cut through the remaining perimeter adhesive.

   Open the Display Assembly

   Swing open the display from the right edge like the cover of a book.

   Remove the Logic Board Cover Screws

   Unscrew the Y000 tri-point screws securing the lower metal connector cover.

   Disconnect the Battery

   Use the pointed end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector directly up from its socket.

    Disconnect the Display Cables

    Disconnect the display and digitizer flex cables from the logic board using a spudger.

    Separate the Display Completely

    Set the display assembly aside in a safe, dust-free location.

    Unscrew the Loudspeaker

    Remove the Phillips and tri-point screws holding the loudspeaker assembly in place at the bottom of the case.

    Remove the Loudspeaker

    Gently lift the loudspeaker out of the rear case using precision tweezers.

    Unbolt the Taptic Engine

    Remove the standoff and tri-point screws securing the Taptic Engine.

    Remove the Taptic Engine

    Disconnect the Taptic Engine flex cable and lift the unit out of the chassis.

    Unfasten the Lightning Port Bracket

    Remove the screws anchoring the charging port flex assembly to the bottom frame.

    Disconnect the Charging Port Flex Cable

    Pry up the charging port board connection from the bottom of the logic board.

    Peel Up the Microphones

    Use a spudger to carefully unseal the lower microphones glued to the bottom mesh vents.

    Extract the Charging Port Assembly

    Lift the entire charging port flex assembly out of the phone body.

    Install the New Charging Port Assembly

    Align and seat the new charging port flex, securing the lower microphones in their channels.

    Fasten the Port Bracket Screws

    Drive the securing screws back into the charging port housing frame.

    Reinstall the Taptic Engine and Loudspeaker

    Place the Taptic Engine and loudspeaker back into position and secure their respective screws.

    Apply New Display Adhesive

    Clean the frame perimeter with isopropyl alcohol and lay down a pre-cut display adhesive gasket.

    Reconnect Cables and Seal the Device

    Reconnect the display and battery cables, replace the metal brackets, and press the screen firmly into place.
