Step-by-step

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew and remove the two 3.5 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat Display Adhesive
2 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer to the bottom edge of the iPhone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the display screen, just above the home indicator bar area.

Pry Display Gap
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap between the display assembly and the outer frame.

Slice Edge Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slice around the perimeter to separate the water-resistant adhesive.

Open Display Assembly
1 minSwing the display open from the left side like the front cover of a book. Rest it against a stable object to avoid straining the flex cables.

Remove Lower Cover Bracket
3 minUnscrew the four Y000 screws securing the lower connector bracket and lift the bracket out of the device.

Disconnect Battery Press Connector
1 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its logic board socket.

Remove Upper Bracket Screws
2 minUnscrew the three Y000 screws holding the upper display connector bracket and remove it using tweezers.

2 minDisconnect the OLED panel flex cable and the touch sensor cable using the flat end of a spudger.

Detach Display Assembly
1 minLift the display assembly completely off the rear enclosure chassis and set it aside in a safe location.

Remove Rear Camera Shield
2 minUnscrew the metal bracket covering the rear camera modules and lift it out using precision tweezers.

Disconnect Rear Cameras
2 minDisconnect both camera press connectors from the logic board and gently pry the camera assembly out.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the SIM tray hole and push firmly to eject the tray.

Unscrew Logic Board Screws
4 minRemove all Standoff and Phillips screws holding the logic board in place within the rear enclosure.

Disconnect Board Connectors
3 minDisconnect all remaining interconnect cables from the logic board, including the wireless charging coil flex cable.

Remove Logic Board
2 minCarefully pivot the logic board out from the bottom end and lift it completely out of the phone frame.

Heat Back Glass Assembly
3 minApply heat evenly to the outer rear glass of the phone to soften the strong adhesive holding the wireless charging coil.

Pry Up Wireless Charging Coil
4 minWork a thin plastic prying card underneath the wireless charging pad and NFC assembly to free it from the chassis.
