Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minTurn off your iPhone completely before starting the repair process.

Remove Pentalobe screws
2 minUnscrew the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located at the bottom edge near the Lightning port.

Heat the lower edge
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the front glass, just above the home button area.

Separate the display
4 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick into the seam.

Slice the adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around the edges of the display to slice through the remaining adhesive perimeter.

Open the display
2 minSwing the display open from the left edge like a book page, leaning it against a stable support.

Remove the battery cover bracket
3 minUnscrew the four Y000 screws securing the lower connector bracket and remove the bracket.

Disconnect the battery
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

Disconnect the display cables
3 minDisconnect the OLED display cable and digitizer cable using the point of your spudger.

Remove the rear camera bracket
3 minUnscrew the retaining screws on the rear camera shield and lift the metal bracket out.

Disconnect upper module cables
4 minUnplug the front sensor, rear camera, and antenna connectors from the upper logic board.

Remove logic board standoff screws
5 minUnscrew the standoff screws anchoring the logic board to the back aluminum housing.

Remove the logic board
3 minGently pry up the logic board from the bottom end and lift it completely out of the frame.
