Step-by-step

Power Off iPhone
1 minTurn off your iPhone 12 Pro completely before starting the disassembly.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew the two 6.7 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

Heat Lower Edge
2 minApply a heated pad or heat gun to the lower edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower portion of the screen, just above the Lightning port.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup to create a tiny gap, then slide an opening pick into the bottom edge.

Slice Left Edge Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick up the left edge of the phone to cut through the display adhesive sealant.

Slice Right Edge Adhesive
2 minReinsert the pick at the bottom edge and slide it up the right side to release the right adhesive strip.

Slice Top Edge Adhesive
2 minGently slide the pick across the top edge of the display to release the top plastic securing tabs.

Open Display Assembly
1 minSwing the screen open from the right side to the left, like opening a book cover.

Unscrew Connector Bracket
2 minRemove the four Y000 screws securing the metal connector cover plate over the battery and display flex cables.

Remove Cover Plate
1 minUse tweezers to lift and remove the metal connector cover plate from the logic board.

Disconnect Battery
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket.

Disconnect Display Cables
2 minDisconnect the display cable connector and digitizer cable connector from the logic board.

Disconnect Front Sensor Assembly
2 minDisconnect the front earpiece sensor assembly cable from the top portion of the logic board.

Separate Display Assembly
1 minLift the display assembly completely away from the chassis and set it on a clean workspace.

Unscrew Loudspeaker Screws
2 minUnscrew the four screws securing the loudspeaker assembly to the bottom edge of the frame.

Remove Loudspeaker Module
2 minGently pry the loudspeaker up from the bottom housing and lift it out of the enclosure.

Install New Loudspeaker
2 minPosition the replacement loudspeaker module into the lower housing and press it flush into place.

Secure Loudspeaker Screws
2 minReinstall and tighten the four screws to secure the new loudspeaker assembly firmly in place.
