   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and either volume button, then slide the screen toggle to turn off the iPhone completely.

   Remove the pentalobe screws

   Unscrew the two 6.7 mm P2 pentalobe screws located on the bottom edge of the iPhone next to the Lightning port.

   Heat the bottom edge

   Apply a heated iOpener or hair dryer to the lower edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the screen assembly, just above the home bar area.

   Create a gap at the bottom edge

   Pull up on the suction cup with firm pressure while inserting an opening pick into the gap above the pentalobe screws.

   Slice the adhesive perimeter

   Slide the opening pick around the bottom, left, and right edges of the phone to cut through the display adhesive sealant.

   Open the display assembly

   Gently swing the display open from the right side like a book cover. Rest it securely against a vertical object so it does not strain the ribbon cables.

   Unscrew the battery connector cover

   Remove the two 1.1 mm Tri-point Y000 screws holding down the lower logic board connector cover.

   Remove the connector cover

   Use tweezers to lift the lower metal bracket out of the phone chassis.

    Disconnect the battery

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off its socket on the logic board using a plastic spudger.

    Unscrew the display cable cover

    Remove the four Tri-point Y000 screws securing the upper display connector bracket.

    Remove the display bracket

    Use precision tweezers to lift the metal display bracket off the logic board.

    Disconnect the display and digitizer cables

    Use a spudger to pry up the OLED display cable and digitizer press connectors from the board.

    Disconnect the front sensor assembly

    Disconnect the front sensor assembly flex cable, then set the display assembly aside.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly

    Remove the four Phillips screws and one Tri-point screw securing the bottom loudspeaker module.

    Remove the loudspeaker

    Lift the loudspeaker out from the bottom edge of the rear housing.

    Unscrew the Taptic Engine

    Remove the two Tri-point Y000 screws securing the Taptic Engine vibration unit.

    Remove the Taptic Engine

    Disconnect the Taptic Engine flex cable and lift the module out of the lower chassis.

    Unscrew the primary microphone bracket

    Remove the small retaining screws securing the primary bottom microphone and Lightning connector assembly.

    Replace the bottom microphone assembly

    Use a spudger to gently pry the old microphone and Lightning assembly from the housing, then replace it with the new component.
