Power Down iPhone
1 minTurn off your iPhone completely before beginning disassembly to prevent electrical shorts.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUnscrew the two 6.7 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on the bottom edge near the Lightning port.

Apply Heat to Lower Edge
2 minUse a heat gun or hairdryer to warm the bottom edge of the iPhone for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minApply a suction cup to the lower half of the display screen, just above the home button area.

Remove Lower Loudspeaker
2 minLift the loudspeaker module up and out of the lower enclosure using a spudger.

Remove Taptic Engine
2 minDisconnect the Taptic Engine flex cable and lift the vibrator unit clear of the frame.

Unscrew Charging Port Assembly
4 minRemove the retaining screws securing the Lightning port assembly and dual microphones to the bottom frame.

Detach Microphones
2 minGently pry the primary and secondary microphones from their recessed slots on the lower edge.

Remove Old Charging Port Cable
3 minPeel the charging port flex cable off the rear enclosure chassis and lift the assembly away.

Install New Port Assembly
5 minPosition the new Lightning connector assembly into place, adhering the flex cable and aligning the screw posts.
