   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and either volume button, then slide to power off. Do not connect a charger to prevent shorting board components.

   Remove the pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the device.

   Heat the lower display edge

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the waterproof adhesive.

   Attach the suction handle

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the front display, just above the Lightning port.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Pull up on the suction handle to create a tiny gap, then insert an opening pick and slide it around the perimeter to slice the adhesive.

   Open the display like a book

   Swing the display open from the right edge, resting it against a sturdy object to avoid straining the display cables.

   Unscrew the battery cover

   Use a Y000 tri-point screwdriver to remove the four Y000 screws securing the main board bracket cover.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the pointed end of a spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up out of its socket.

   Disconnect the display cables

   Use a spudger to disconnect the OLED panel cable, digitizer cable, and ambient light sensor assembly cable.

    Separate the display assembly

    Lift the display assembly away from the rear enclosure and set it aside on a clean work surface.

    Unscrew the logic board brackets

    Remove all Y000 and Phillips #000 screws holding down the lower logic board and camera grounding brackets.

    Disconnect remaining board connectors

    Pry up all remaining camera, charging port, and antenna flex cable connectors attached to the logic board using a spudger.

    Remove the logic board

    Gently lift the double-stacked logic board out of the chassis, taking care not to snag any flex cables.

    Scrub corrosion with isopropyl alcohol

    Submerge the logic board in 99% isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub all corroded areas using a soft ESD brush.

    Dry components thoroughly

    Allow the logic board and housing components to air dry completely in a warm, dry area for at least two hours.

    Reinstall the logic board

    Set the dried logic board back into the rear case and securely snap all flex cable connectors into place.

    Apply new display adhesive

    Clean remaining adhesive from the housing rim with isopropyl alcohol, then align and adhere a new water-seal adhesive gasket.

    Reconnect and seal the display

    Reconnect the display cables and battery last, replace the metal brackets, and firmly press the screen flush into the frame.
