Step-by-step

Remove Bottom Pentalobe Screws
2 minPower off your iPhone completely. Use a P2 pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws on either side of the Lightning port.

Heat Lower Display Edge
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun set to low temperature to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the display glass, just above the home indicator area.

Slice Display Perimeter Adhesive
4 minPull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert an opening pick and slide it around the bottom and sides to cut the screen adhesive.

Open Display to Right
2 minSwing the display open from the left side like a book cover, leaning it against a stable object so it does not pull on the flex cables.

Unscrew Battery Shield
3 minUse a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the lower connector metal shield.

Disconnect Battery Flex Cable
2 minUse the flat edge of a spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its logic board socket.

Disconnect Display Cables
3 minPry the display assembly cable and digitizer cable straight up off their board sockets with a plastic spudger.

Remove Upper Sensor Shield
3 minUnscrew the three Y000 screws holding the upper sensor assembly shield in place, then remove the metal bracket with tweezers.

Disconnect Upper Sensor Assembly
2 minPry the upper earpiece speaker and front sensor assembly cable off the board and lift the display free.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the SIM tray hole on the side of the housing and press firmly to eject the tray.

Unscrew Camera Bracket
2 minRemove the two Y000 screws securing the rear camera metal cover and remove the cover with tweezers.

Disconnect Rear Camera Connectors
3 minPry up the three rear camera press connectors using a plastic spudger and lift the camera module out of the chassis.

Disconnect Upper Antenna Connectors
3 minDisconnect the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antenna flex cables near the top left corner using the tip of your spudger.

Disconnect Lower Flex Cables
4 minDisconnect the Lightning port connector, wireless charging coil, and power/volume button flex cables from the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Standoff Screws
4 minUse a dedicated standoff screwdriver to remove the standoff screws holding the logic board to the rear enclosure.

Lift Logic Board Out
3 minGently pry up the bottom edge of the logic board with a spudger and remove it carefully from the phone casing.
