   Power Off the iPhone

   Turn off the device immediately to prevent further electrical short circuits. If the screen is unresponsive, press and quickly release Volume Up, then Volume Down, and hold the Side button until it shuts off.

   Remove Pentalobe Screws

   Unscrew the two 6.8 mm P2 Pentalobe screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

   Heat Bottom Edge

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to warm the bottom edge of the iPhone for two minutes to soften the waterproof adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower half of the front display glass, just above the home indicator area.

   Lift Display Panel

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a slight gap between the screen assembly and the outer frame.

   Slice Perimeter Adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and carefully slide it around the bottom and sides to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Open Display

   Swing the screen open from the left edge like the cover of a book. Rest it against a stable object so you do not strain the screen flex cables.

   Unscrew Battery Connector Cover

   Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the lower metal bracket over the battery connector.

   Disconnect Battery

   Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the pointed end of a spudger.

    Disconnect Display Cables

    Unscrew the upper bracket and use a spudger to pop off the OLED screen and digitizer press connectors.

    Remove Logic Board Screws

    Remove the standoff and Y000 screws holding the main logic board to the rear aluminum frame.

    Lift Out Logic Board

    Gently lift the logic board out of the housing using precision tweezers, taking care not to snag attached flex cables.

    Scrub Corrosion with Alcohol

    Dip a soft-bristled brush into 99% isopropyl alcohol and lightly scrub away all white and green liquid corrosion deposits on both sides of the board.

    Dry the Board

    Use compressed air to blow away remaining alcohol and liquid residue, then allow the board to air-dry completely for 30 minutes.

    Clean Rear Housing

    Wipe down the interior of the phone case and connector contact points with a microfiber cloth dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

    Reassemble and Test

    Reinstall the logic board, apply new pre-cut perimeter adhesive, reconnect display and battery cables, and close the screen assembly.
