Step-by-step

Power Off iPhone
1 minTurn off the iPhone 12 Mini completely before beginning disassembly. Press and hold the side button and volume down button, then slide to power off.

8 minDisconnect remaining flex cables connected to the board, unscrew the standoff screws, and carefully lift out the logic board.

Remove Volume Button Brackets
5 minUnscrew the small metal brackets holding the volume up and down mechanical switches against the inner side of the frame.

Peel Volume Flex Cable
4 minUse precision tweezers to gently peel the volume button flex cable away from the internal sidewall of the enclosure.

Insert New Volume Buttons
5 minPlace the replacement volume button flex cable into alignment inside the housing and reattach the metal bracket screws tightly.

Reassemble Logic Board and Display
10 minReinstall the logic board, reconnect all display and battery cables, replace the metal brackets, and press the display flush into the frame.
