   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and either volume button, then slide the power icon to turn off the device completely.

   Unscrew bottom pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

   Heat the lower display edge

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower half of the display assembly, just above the home indicator line.

   Create display gap

   Pull up firm and steady on the suction cup to create a small gap between the front panel and the enclosure bezel.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide an opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge of the phone to hold it open.

   Slice left perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick up the left edge of the phone, cutting through the adhesive securing the display.

   Slice right perimeter adhesive

   Reinsert the pick at the bottom edge and slice up the right edge to separate the adhesive.

   Slice top edge adhesive

   Gently insert the pick under the top edge of the display and slide across to release the top clips.

    Open the display

    Swing the screen open from the right side, like a book cover, resting it against a stable object.

    Unscrew lower connector cover

    Use a Y000 tri-point driver to remove the four tri-point screws holding the battery and display bracket.

    Remove lower connector cover

    Use tweezers to lift out the metal cover plate protecting the logic board connectors.

    Disconnect the battery

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a spudger.

    Disconnect display cable

    Use a spudger to pop the OLED display panel connector straight off its board socket.

    Disconnect upper sensor cable

    Disconnect the earpiece speaker and sensor assembly connector from the logic board using a plastic spudger.

    Remove display assembly

    Lift the entire display assembly away from the phone body and place it on a clean work surface.

    Unscrew earpiece speaker assembly

    Remove the four Phillips screws securing the earpiece speaker and sensor assembly to the back of the old screen.

    Detach earpiece speaker and sensors

    Carefully pry the microphone, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor out of their recesses on the display panel.

    Install speaker onto new display

    Align and seat the earpiece speaker and sensor assembly into the matching slots on the new display assembly.

    Secure earpiece speaker assembly

    Reinstall the four screws using a screwdriver to anchor the sensor assembly onto the new screen panel.

    Clean enclosure perimeter frame

    Remove old adhesive strips around the edges of the aluminum housing using isopropyl alcohol and a pick.

    Apply display seal adhesive

    Peel the backing off a new pre-cut perimeter adhesive gasket and align it carefully over the phone housing.

    Reconnect display and sensor cables

    Snap the display cable and upper sensor cable connectors back onto their logic board sockets.

    Reconnect the battery

    Align and press the battery connector straight down into its socket on the logic board.

    Reinstall metal connector cover

    Place the metal bracket over the connectors and tighten the four Y000 tri-point screws firmly.

    Align display assembly

    Position the top edge of the display first, then press down along the sides until the screen snaps flush into place.

    Reinstall bottom pentalobe screws

    Thread and tighten the two P2 pentalobe screws on either side of the Lightning connector port.
