Step-by-step

Remove bottom Pentalobe screws
2 minPower off your iPhone completely. Use a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws next to the Lightning port.

Heat lower edge of the display
2 minApply a heat gun or heated pad to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Insert opening pick
3 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull up firmly to create a gap. Insert an opening pick into the gap under the screen.

Slice perimeter display adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around the left, bottom, and right edges to slice through the display adhesive. Do not pry deeply near the top edge.

3 minUse a spudger to gently pop off the camera press connectors and upper antenna flex connectors attached to the upper logic board.

Remove logic board standoff screws
3 minUse a standoff screwdriver to remove the retaining screws securing the logic board to the rear enclosure.

Disconnect lower component flex connectors
2 minDisconnect the Lightning port assembly and Taptic Engine connectors from the bottom end of the logic board.

Extract logic board
2 minCarefully lift the logic board out of the phone chassis from the bottom edge, ensuring no remaining flex cables snag.

3 minLower the new logic board into the frame, aligning the camera module and screw standoffs accurately before securing.
