   Power off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button, then slide to power off. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Remove the bottom Pentalobe screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe driver to remove the two 3.5 mm screws located on either side of the Lightning charging port.

   Heat the lower display edge

   Apply a heated iOpener or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the front display glass, just above the home indicator area.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up firmly on the suction cup to create a slight gap between the screen and frame, then insert a plastic opening pick.

   Slice the lower adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick along the bottom edge of the device to cut through the water-resistant adhesive seal.

   Slice the side display seals

   Move the pick carefully up the left and right edges, inserting it no deeper than 3 mm to avoid internal flex cables.

   Open the iPhone display

   Swing the display open from the left edge like the cover of a book. Lean it against a solid object so it does not stress the top cables.

   Unscrew the lower connector bracket

   Use a Tri-point Y000 driver to remove the four screws holding the metal connector cover over the battery and screen cables.

    Remove the battery cover

    Use tweezers to lift out the metal lower bracket and set it aside in a organized screw tray.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to gently pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

    Disconnect the display cables

    Pry up the OLED display cable and touch digitizer cable connectors from the logic board using your spudger.

    Unscrew the upper sensor bracket

    Remove the three Y000 screws holding the metal bracket over the front sensor assembly cable at the top of the board.

    Disconnect the sensor assembly

    Disconnect the front sensor assembly flex cable and completely separate the display assembly from the rear enclosure.

    Peel back the adhesive tabs

    Locate the flexible adhesive pull-tabs on the top and bottom edges of the battery and unstick their tips using tweezers.

    Pull the battery adhesive strips

    Slowly pull each adhesive tab at a low angle away from the battery, letting the stretch-release tape slide out completely.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the battery out of the frame; if stubborn adhesive remains, apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol around the edges.

    Apply new adhesive strips

    Affix replacement stretch-release adhesive strips to the back of the new battery, pressing firmly down along their length.

    Press the new battery into place

    Position the battery in the enclosure, plug in its connector briefly to ensure correct alignment, then press down firmly.

    Reconnect display and battery cables

    Attach the sensor assembly, digitizer, display, and battery connectors to their sockets, pressing until each clicks softly.

    Reattach display cover brackets

    Reinstall the metal brackets and secure them using their original Tri-point screws in their exact original locations.

    Reseal and screw display closed

    Align the top edge of the display with the frame, press the edges shut until flush, and reinstall the two bottom Pentalobe screws.
