Step-by-step

Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the side button along with either volume button, then slide to power off your iPhone 11 completely.

Remove Pentalobe Screws
2 minUse a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws located on the bottom edge of the frame.

Heat Bottom Display Edge
2 minApply a heat gun set to low over the lower edge of the screen for 90 seconds to soften the waterproof adhesive seal.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the front glass, just above the Lightning port.

Slice Bottom Screen Adhesive
3 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic prying pick into the bottom edge to slice the adhesive.

Slice Perimeter Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick carefully along the left and right edges to break the remaining display seal. Do not push the pick too deep on the right edge.

Open Display Assembly
2 minPivot the display open from the right side like a book cover. Prop the screen against a sturdy box so it does not strain the top ribbon cables.

Remove Battery Connector Bracket
2 minUse a Y000 Tri-point screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the metal battery cover bracket. Remove the bracket with tweezers.

Disconnect the Battery
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the battery press connector and pry it straight up from the logic board to eliminate electrical risk.

Remove Taptic Support Screws
3 minUnscrew the three Y000 Tri-point screws securing the grounding bracket over the lower portion of the enclosure and Taptic Engine.

Disconnect Taptic Engine Cable
2 minGently wedge the tip of a spudger under the Taptic Engine ribbon cable connector and pop it straight up off the board.

Remove the Taptic Engine
2 minLift the Taptic Engine module out from the lower frame of the iPhone using tweezers or your fingers.
