   Power Off the iPhone

   Press and hold the side button and volume down button until the slider appears. Slide to turn off the iPhone completely.

   Remove Bottom Pentalobe Screws

   Use a P2 Pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two 6.7 mm screws on either side of the Lightning port.

   Heat the Lower Display Edge

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer to the bottom edge of the phone for about two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Apply the Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the front glass, just above the home indicator area.

   Create a Lower Edge Gap

   Pull up on the suction cup with firm, constant pressure to create a small gap between the screen and the frame.

   Insert the Plastic Prying Tool

   Insert a plastic prying tool or opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge of the phone.

   Slice Display Perimeter Adhesive

   Slide the prying tool around the bottom and left edges to cut through the display adhesive.

   Open the Display Assembly

   Gently swing the screen open from the left side like the cover of a book. Rest it against a stable support.

   Remove Lower Bracket Screws

   Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the lower metal connector bracket.

    Detach Lower Bracket

    Use tweezers to lift out the metal bracket protecting the battery and display connectors.

    Disconnect the Battery Cable

    Use the edge of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board.

    Disconnect Display Flex Cables

    Pry up the two lower display cable connectors from the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

    Unbolt Upper Sensor Bracket

    Remove the five Tri-point Y000 screws holding the cover bracket over the upper sensor assembly connector.

    Disconnect Front Sensor Cable

    Remove the top metal bracket and disconnect the front sensor assembly cable from the board.

    Separate Display from Housing

    Lift the display assembly completely off the rear enclosure and place it face-down on a clean surface.

    Unbolt Earpiece Speaker Assembly

    Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the earpiece speaker and sensor assembly.

    Flip Earpiece Speaker Open

    Gently flip the earpiece speaker down and away from the top edge of the display glass.

    Heat Upper Sensor Region

    Warm the top front of the display glass for 1 minute to soften the adhesive holding the microphone and sensors.

    Pry Front Sensors Loose

    Carefully slide a spudger underneath the ambient light sensor and proximity sensor to loosen them from their notches.

    Position Sensors in New Display

    Transfer the earpiece speaker and sensor assembly to the corresponding slots on the new screen.

    Secure Earpiece Speaker Screws

    Fold the speaker back into position over the sensor housing and reinstall the bracket screws.

    Apply New Waterproof Seal

    Clean the old perimeter adhesive off the phone frame and apply a new precut adhesive seal along the edges.

    Reconnect All Flex Cables

    Attach the sensor cable, display cables, and battery cable to their respective sockets on the logic board.

    Seal and Close the Display

    Reinstall all metal brackets, align the top edge of the display, and firmly press the screen into the chassis frame.
